Onepoint Software GmbH with headquarters in Graz, Austria, presents the new version of their project leadership software Onepoint Project 06.1 at the Systems tradeshow at the end of October in Munich. For the first time Onepoint Project will be available under two licensing models: As Open Source under the name "Open Edition" und in an extended, commercial version titled "Team Edition". Onepoint Project is software for project leadership enabling high tech organizations to implement projects efficiently. The primary goal is to make projects more transparent while at the same time minimizing project risks and administrative efforts.
The usability of Onepoint Project 06.1 was improved considerably compared to the previous version. Beside their own ideas, the Onepoint developers have primarily implemented customer improvement suggestions. The new version features also extended project planning and controlling functionality, e.g., a visualization of resource conflicts. Additional features are import and export from and to Microsoft Project and the logical backup and restore of project databases.
The Open Edition, with its simplified, reduced functionality, is primarily targeted at technology startups. Users of the Team Edition continue to enjoy the full functionality of the product. Onepoint Project is available in German and English.
Onepoint CEO Gerald Mesaric explains the opening of Onepoint Project for the Open Source community: "Via Open Source also very small companies can optimize project leadership which otherwise couldn't afford Onepoint Project. For us, especially Open Source libraries proofed often very helpful and this way, we would like to give something back to the community." Mesaric is confident: "We are convinced that this move will increase the distribution of our software tremendously, especially, on an international scale."
Visitors of the Systems tradeshow in Munich, Germany, from October 23 to 27, 2006 find Onepoint at the solution partner area of the IBM booth in hall A3.
